One Last Post
Life goes by so fast that we don't even notice when it passes by our side. At one point we can be here, the next we could go missing. It takes the death of a loved one to make you stop for a moment and think how fast that person left your side, how empty is your surrounding without your loved ones. My great-grandmother died 5 days ago, and for me it isn't sad, but i'm not happy either, because it means that next it could be my grandmother or my mother. As they lowered the casket, I noticed that on my mother's scalp there were gray hairs trying to see the light of day, and I thought, how much time do I have left until she isn't there anymore. I give this as and example to show that humans are susceptible to change because of a specific situation. Maybe I will try to spend as much time as I can with my mother, so that when the moment that she isn't there anymore comes, maybe I'll be too full of memories to even think of her absence. I write this not as a act of love for my mother, but as a reminder that life is too short to take for granted, even though it sometimes looks like a never-ending semester, as this one has been.
