A Doll's House Act I & II

While reading this two acts of the play many things came to my mind, the word that I gave most emphasis was LIE. I read each page and all I could think of was how Nora by lying in the first place, for a good cause that was keeping her family afloat, had to keep lying and lying to hide that first one that I accept was not the best way to handle things. She commited a fraud by forging her father's signature after he was dead, which obviously would get out into the air at some point, hence that is where Krogstad enters the picture. He was an unpleasant man to begin with and by Nora being in his hands was a major problem for her, because he used her to get his way if not she wouldn't get hers. Also I couldn't help noticing how she felt a little flattered that Dr. Rank was in love with her. She suspected it, but when he told her she felt uncomfortable, which was a little confusing for me because if she suspected it in the first place, then she should have felt uncomfortable then too. Maybe it was the fact that she wasn't certain about his feelings that made her oblivious to her relationship with him. She played with his feelings and ended bad in the end herself. Also Torvald was a little sexist, because he saw Nora as a spendthrift as he called her, which for me is degrading because if I was in her place I would have felt as if he considered me as person who married him only for the money, but if namecalling was the only way Nora was going to get what she wanted then she was willing to submit to her husband's little pet names.
